| The MX10 is the heart of the Matrix System. It broadcasts X-10
signals onto the electrical wiring and stores timed events for future execution. It is configured using the Matrix
software installed onto a PC that is connected to the MX10 via one of the PC COM ports.
Once set up, the MX10 stores the configuration and typically up to 50 timed events in its internal memory meaning
that the PC no longer needs to be connected. The MX10 can be plugged into any 3-pin power socket in order to
allow signals to be broadcast onto the wiring. This socket still remains available, although not able to be
controlled by Matrix. The MX10 has built in battery backup allowing it to retain its configuration in the event
of a mains power failure and also allowing it to be pre-programmed prior to installation at another site. The
transmission range of the X-10 signal varies according to a number of factors. Under
normal operating conditions the signal range is a minimum of 80 metres however it is possible to achieve far
higher ranges of 1 Km and above. If there is any doubt about the performance of Matrix in an intended installation,
it is strongly recommended that an X-10 transmission test kit (MTK) is used. |
