Matrix is based on the principal of being able to broadcast signals on existing mains wiring. These
X-10 signals are received by
Control Modules
that respond either by turning power on or off or by dimming lights. Each Module can have any one of
256 individual
addresses.
Signals can be sent in real time from RC8-1 Remote Controls or from the
MX10 PC Interface where they can also be stored for transmission at a later
specified time and/or date.
X-10 signals will travel a considerable distance (over a Kilometre in some cases).
The range is dependant on circuit impedance. (X-10 signals will be maintained between 5 to 10 Ohms)
To prevent signal conflict or create partitions the DFC3 Filter Module
can be used, in addition the PF10 Plug-In Filter will isolate any device that
may be causing signal interference. If there is any doubt about the potential for interference or high
impedance it is recommended that an MTK Test Kit be used prior to installation.
