X-10 is a unique, patented PLC (Power Line Carrier) signalling protocol developed by X-10 Inc. over 25 years ago.
The key to the X-10 protocol is that signals are sent at the zero point of the AC Cycle which is the point of least electrical "noise" and provides excellent signal penetration.
In 1978 X-10 Ltd was founded as a Joint venture between the X-10 developers and BSR, the Powerline Carrier Technology products were then launched in the USA to Radio Shack and Sears Roebuck.
In 1987 X-10 acquired BSR's interest in the Company and began manufacturing in Shenzen China. Today X-10 produce over one million units a month and employ 2,500 people on a 50,000 sq/m site. The Company is still pioneering leading edge consumer electronics and produce a range of products using a number of unique patented technologies
